The costs of toddler care (27 months-4 years) depend on your personal situation. A distinction is made between working parents who are entitled to childcare allowance from the Tax Administration and non-working parents who are not entitled to childcare allowance.
No right to childcare allowance from the Tax Administration
Non-working parents pay a parental contribution for 8 hours of pre-school care per week. The amount of this contribution depends on your gross income. You can find the costs for toddler care in this table.
Entitlement to childcare allowance
Working parents pay for 8 hours of toddler care per week the hourly rate that equals the national standard for day care (€8.97). You will receive childcare allowance on that amount from the Tax Administration. That allowance depends on your/your income.

VVE indication
Children who have received a VVE indication from the child welfare agency attend an extra 8 hours per week at the toddler centre. These extra hours are always free of charge.
The above rates are:
- Including food.
- Including nappies and care products.
- Charged in 12 monthly instalments, rounding differences with the gross monthly price reserved.
